About Spectrummonitoring.com

History

Spectrummonitoring.com is owned and operated by Spectrum Monitoring Technology Advisors B.V. (d.b.a. SMTA).

SMTA was founded in 2006 by a former staff member of the Dutch telecommunications regulator. Initially, the company focused on training radio communications professionals tasked with monitoring the airwaves.

In later years the business expanded into tracking IMT spectrum licences. It took more than 48 months to build up a comprehensive global view since such a dataset was virtually non-existent.

Nowadays, SMTA is committed to continuously improving the data quality of its mobile frequencies database as well as keeping it up to date.

Portfolio

Spectrummonitoring.com aims to enable spectrum professionals in their work.

The SMTA global frequencies database is the industry source of choice for current data about mobile network spectrum licences (2G GSM, 3G UMTS, 4G LTE, and 5G NR). Clients may use the dataset for strategic planning, market analysis or network operations. Online and offline versions are available.

Further to the frequencies database, SMTA offers training services to the industry. The learning modules empower participants to monitor and understand the radio frequency spectrum at different levels. In-depth technical knowledge about the working of Software Defined Radio (SDR) can be gained as well.

SMTA is open to international consultancy assignments, either short-term or long-term.
